About Senator Schiff
Adam Schiff represents California in the United States Senate. He was elected to the Senate in 2024 and began serving in December 2024, initially completing the remainder of the Senate term previously held by Dianne Feinstein. He was sworn in for a full six-year term on January 3, 2025.
As a United States senator, Schiff represents residents throughout California, including all communities within the RivCo Life coverage area.
Schiff was born in Framingham, Massachusetts, and his family later moved to California. He graduated from Monte Vista High School in Danville before attending Stanford University and Harvard Law School.
After law school, Schiff worked as a law clerk and later became a federal prosecutor with the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Los Angeles.
Before joining the U.S. Senate, Schiff served in the California State Senate. He was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2000 and served in the House until his election to the Senate in 2024.

Senate Committee on the Judiciary
Schiff serves as Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on Intellectual Property and also serves on subcommittees dealing with the Constitution, privacy and technology, and antitrust and consumer rights.
Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works
Schiff serves as Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on Fisheries, Water, and Wildlife and is also a member of the Subcommittee on Transportation and Infrastructure.
Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry
Schiff serves on subcommittees covering conservation, forestry and natural resources, as well as commodities, derivatives, risk management and trade.
Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship
The committee has jurisdiction over matters involving the Small Business Administration and a variety of federal programs affecting small businesses.
